Case/Business Process Management Technical Consultant

Overview

BroadPoint, a Washington, DC-based professional services firm serving both commercial and federal clients, is looking for a Technical Consultant to serve as part of our Case Management Consulting Practice serving the federal government.  

 

Working for our Operations Executives, you will be responsible for customizing technical solutions aimed at addressing issues in employee- and labor-relations, performance management, and onboarding.  You will be involved in all phases of the project including analysis, design, development, testing and deployment. You will deliver, enhance and support solutions for internal and external clients based on MicroPact’s entellitrak Case Management and Business Process Management software, and JEE application frameworks and technologies. A top performer will be able to proficiently research problems, plan, recommend and deploy solutions in a highly professional manner and balance multiple client projects at any given point in time.

 

 

Responsibilities

You will:

  • Gather, analyze, and document customer's business requirements and objectives, including diagramming their 'as-is' and 'to-be' business processes.
  • Interface with clients to provide application support, bug fixes, enhancements and manage client expectations.
  • Work with customers to define and configure the core application components including but not limited to forms, data objects, security, searches and workflows to support their requirements.
  • Apply Agile methodology and J2EE application frameworks to design and develop customizations and reusable utilities.
  • Deploy solution with configurations and customizations.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to increase operational efficiency.
  • Document instructions and procedures for the operation and maintenance of the delivered solution.
  • Provide knowledge transfer to the customers or internally.
  • Support other pre-sales activities such as identifying potential future/add-on service opportunities for the customer. Help develop and maintain relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction.
  • Verify issues and undesirable behavior, and provide initial troubleshooting/ resolution of advanced modifications.  Escalate challenging issues to project management for alternative resolutions in a timely manner.
  • Organize and self-manage assigned tasks, and provide analysis and strategies for long-term projects.
  • Maintain awareness of contractual obligations and hours/billing.
  • Strive to learn new technologies & techniques and instruct other members of the team on their usage.
  • Mentor other members of the team and assist with on-boarding new members to the processes and technologies.

 

Qualifications

Mandatory

  • Must be a US citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Public Trust Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or MIS.
  • 4 or more years of experience in progressively responsible positions in IT consulting projects.
  • Understanding and experience with all aspects of software Project Lifecycle.
  • Experience working with customer’s business and IT stakeholders to capture and document the customer’s business and system requirements.
  • Experience designing and developing technical solutions to address business problems.
  • 4 or more years of hands-on development experience with Java, JavaScript and SQL.
  • Experience with relational database such as MS SQL Server and Oracle, and writing stored procedures.
  • Experience with several of the following technologies: J2EE, Design Patterns, JSPs, Servlets, Hibernate, Struts, ANT, XSLT, SOAP/RESTful Web Services, Web/Application Server, XML and HTML.
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.

 

Desired

  • Experience with one or more common enterprise software solutions in the case management arena (e.g. MicroPact entellitrak, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and Salesforce)
  • Consulting experience in diverse technologies and business environments.
  • Experience configuring and tuning Application servers such as Tomcat, JBoss and WebLogic.
